HOW IT'S CALCULATED

Three calculations, no fine print

  1. 1

    Revenue

Plan + overage minutes × overage price

  2. 2

    Cost

Minutes used × your cost per minute

  3. 3

    Margin

Revenue − cost, per client and across all your clients

Per minute, revenue is the minutes × your price per minute. Per call, it is the calls (the minutes divided by the average length) × your price per call. The margin is before taxes and payment fees. Amounts are in US dollars.

teldash will do this math with your real calls, every month.

QUESTIONS

About the calculator

What is overage?

The minutes a client uses beyond the ones its plan includes. You bill them apart, at their own price per minute. If that price is below your cost, every extra minute loses you money, and the calculator warns you.

Where do I find my cost per minute?

In your provider's invoice or pricing page, for the plan you pay. Providers change prices and plans, so check yours: the number filled in is only an example.

Does teldash see or save what I type?

No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is sent to a server or saved. A shared link carries your numbers after the #, the part of an address that browsers never send.

Does the margin include taxes and fees?

No. It is what you charge minus what the provider charges you. Taxes, payment processing fees and your own costs, such as people and tools, come out of it afterwards.
